„Mega-Trend Digital Networking in Manufacturing“

Background

Also today, parts are produced and stay in stock until they will be required afterwards. In the future only parts will be produced whose final operation site and purpose is certain. After production, each individual component will receive a RFID-Code which enables to track the worldwide transport and processing machines to read further production specifications from the data base (cloud). Digital networking combined with modern production processes and efficient robots are contained in the study “Automation Industry 4.0”. Strong competitors and high pricing pressure force the companies to fully automate their production in order to stay independent of local wages. In order to solve this exciting challenge, creative young people, who want to realize their ideas of an automated world, are required.

Study Objective

Extensive knowledge of production processes, robotic and digital networking, which are associated to the MEGA trend Industry 4.0, will be developed. Therefore, the visualization of production sequences, the development of user interfaces and local networks are main parts of the study.

Advanced laboratories, which are kept up to date by common research with our industry partners, ensure practical education. There are some university projects conducted with industry partners for those who would like to apply theoretically gained knowledge to practice. In addition to the development of practical experience, participating in the projects helps finance you studies.
