Acoustical Machine Design

Seminar

The focus of the lecture is the "basic machine-acoustic equation". The performance of this calculation method should be brought closer to the students by means of practical examples. In another part, the lecture will deal with the design of special components in machine, plant and vehicle construction. This includes, for example, the calculation of the vibration and structure-borne noise reduction of insulation (block foundations, machine installation on the floor), vibration absorbers, damping linings and the prediction of the vibration behavior of machine structures. In addition, the lecture is intended to introduce the basics of noise generation through flow. For this purpose, application examples from practice, such as fans and turbochargers or pipe noise, are introduced. In the following part of the lecture, the advantages and disadvantages of active noise reduction will be discussed.
